Object Technology Solutions, Inc (OTSI) has an immediate opening for Engineering Technician 4 Lead.

Engineering Technician 4 Lead (Longmont, CO)

• We are seeking an experienced Lab Manager with strong organizational skills and expert-level soldering capabilities, particularly in BGA rework and reballing. This part-time contract role requires someone who takes ownership of their work and can demonstrate a proven track record in lab management.
• Schedule:
  
  4 hours per day, 5 days per week.
• Manage day-to-day lab operations, including equipment, inventory, and workspace organization.
• Perform precision soldering and rework tasks, including:
• BGA (Ball Grid Array) rework and replacement
• BGA reballing operations
• Fine-pitch component soldering and rework
• Maintain lab equipment, tools, and workstations in optimal condition.
• Establish and enforce lab organization standards and procedures.
• Track inventory of components, consumables, and equipment.

• Coordinate with engineering teams to prioritize lab tasks and support project timelines.
• Document lab processes, procedures, and work completed.
• Take ownership of lab cleanliness, safety, and efficiency.
• Demonstrated lab management experience with specific examples of previous lab oversight roles.
• Expert soldering and rework skills, specifically:
• BGA rework (removal and replacement)
• Must be able to demonstrate skills during a practical assessment following virtual screening.
• Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail and a systematic approach.
• Proven job history showing stability and progression in similar roles (this is not an entry-level position).
• Ability to take ownership and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills for coordinating with engineering teams.
• BGA reballing techniques.
• Preferred skills:
• Linux system experience
• Proficiency with rework stations (hot air, IR, etc.) and reballing equipment.
• Experience with lab inventory management systems.
• IPC certification (IPC-1/1 or similar) for rework and repair.
