Supply Chain Manager - Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Supply Chain Manager to design the supply chain strategy for our charging unit. The unit consists of over 1000 part items across six commodity classes. The primary focus will be on optimizing the supply chain, reducing costs, and ensuring timely delivery. This role includes negotiating terms, introducing and evaluating new suppliers, and managing supply functions with our contract manufacturing partner.
Supported by a team of buyers, this position does not require acting in a buyer capacity.
- Design and implement supply chain strategies for the charging unit.
- Optimize processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Negotiate terms and manage relationships with new and existing suppliers.
- Drive ownership of various supply functions to contract manufacturing partners.
- Ensure compliance with safety and manufacturing standards.
- Manage alternate suppliers for PCBA and component suppliers.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain development and operations management within a high technology field.
- Experience in startup or early‑stage companies.
- Understanding of electrical systems, including cable assemblies, wire harnesses, PCBs, sheet metal, and custom parts.
- Proficiency in supply chain design and implementation of complex systems.
- Experience with ERP systems, PLM tools (such as Arena PLM), and supply chain software.
- Advanced data analysis and reporting skills, including Excel pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with procurement, inventory management, and logistics.
- Knowledge of compliance and safety standards in manufacturing environments.
This role is within a 40‑person company that operates in a dynamic startup environment, characterized by quick decision-making and confirmed revenue streams. The company is exploring both short and long‑term incentive programs for employees. Health benefits commence 30 days after the start date, with 3 weeks of accrued PTO. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of the largest EV transit truck manufacturer, uniquely positioned in a rapidly expanding market segment.
Of the 40 employees, 20 are based in Colorado.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Longmont, CO.
Pay and BenefitsPay range: $45.00 – $70.00/hr.
