Overnight Maintenance Mechanic
Location:
Longmont, CO
Pay: $42/hour
Job Type: Direct Hire | Permanent
Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to support preventative and corrective maintenance across all plant equipment, including conveyor, processing, and packaging systems. This role is critical to maintaining safe, reliable operations in a GMP-regulated food manufacturing environment, ensuring equipment performance, food safety, and regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate has strong mechanical troubleshooting abilities, a safety-first mindset, and hands-on experience maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, including work orders, inspections, and lubrication
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace processing and packaging equipment to minimize downtime
- Maintain and repair conveyor systems (belts, bearings, motors, gearboxes, mechanical drives)
- Troubleshoot pneumatic systems (air cylinders, valves, diverters, hoses)
- Complete equipment changeovers, startups, shutdowns, and line clearances
- Support sanitation and equipment readiness for food safety compliance
- Accurately document maintenance activities using computer-based systems (CMMS)
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, manuals, and work instructions
- Follow all OSHA, EPA, GMP, safety, and Lockout/Tagout procedures
- Proven mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting
- Strong understanding of preventative and corrective maintenance practices
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and pneumatic systems
- Experience working with conveyors and packaging equipment
- Comfortable following SOPs, GMPs, work orders, and technical documentation
- Strong safety awareness in a regulated environment
- 3+ years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience
- (2+ years considered with food manufacturing experience)
- Prior GMP or food manufacturing experience
- Exposure to PLC troubleshooting
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Knowledge of hydraulics
- Strong computer and documentation skills (CMMS experience preferred)
- Up to 4 weeks of vacation in your first year
