You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations.

About the RoleThe Medical Support Specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) and the Center Physician for medical issues. The specialist is familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment and follows guidance from Bio Life Medical Affairs and provides center level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Review laboratory test results, notify donors of unsuitable test results, and manage donor adverse events.
- Evaluate donor reactions in accordance with SOPs and handle medical emergencies, including development of the Center Physician’s standing orders and transportation to emergency care.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
- Support the Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, following EHS guidance.
- Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations of pandemic threats within the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent; or graduate‑level nursing program with state requirements.
- Licensed or certified as a LPN or LVN in the state where responsibilities will be assigned.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- State‑approved basic IV therapy certification.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
- Hourly wage range: $28.16 – $38.72, dependent on qualifications, experience, and location.
