OverviewThe Medical Intensive Care Unit at Longmont United Hospital is a Medical/Surgical ICU with 16 beds. We care for trauma patients (GI bleeds, post-MI patients requiring support devices or medication) and patients in need of critical care; we also provide house telemetry overflow as needed. Our department’s mission is to foster evidence-based knowledge and education advancement, delivering the best care to our patients and their families.
As the ICU Registered Nurse Clinical Coordinator at Longmont United Hospital you will:
Responsibilities- Actively support the department director/manager by coordinating clinical and department activities for the unit, including shift charge, department and/or service line.
- Ensure that care is delivered to each patient in accordance with quality standards.
- Act as liaison between physicians and the patient care team.
- Maintain communication and promote cooperation with unit staff and other departments.
- Supervise the staff; authorize work procedures and assign duties.
- Provide input and recommendations to the director/manager on coaching, mentoring and performance management of associates.
- Promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act.
- Be personally accountable for relationship-based care, organizational mission and core values.
Required Experience:
- One year experience required
- Charge RN experience required
- Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
Required
Education:
- Nursing Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing required
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates; preferred for experienced RNs
Licenses/Certification Requirements
- RN License required;
Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact. - Colorado Only: RNs working in Colorado under a multi-state license must obtain their CO RN license within 30 days of establishing residency. Physical Requirements
- Medium work – exert up to 50 lbs force occasionally, up to 20 lbs frequently, and up to 10 lbs constantly.
