Job Title:
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse)
Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd., is seeking a qualified Medical Support Specialist to support daily operations at our Plasma Donation Center. The role reports to the Plasma Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) and works under the guidance of a Center Physician for medical issues.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE) results.
- Manage donor adverse events and review laboratory test results, notifying donors of unsuitable test results.
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including developing the Center Physician’s standing orders and coordinating donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues, donor safety, and eligibility concerns.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents, determining the need for further evaluation by occupational health/ER, and follow EHS guidance for employee incidents.
- Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations of pandemic threats within the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent; or a graduate‑level nursing program with state licensure requirements.
- Currently licensed or certified in the state of assignment:
Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA). - Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- At least two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
- Location:
USA – CO – Longmont - Hourly wage range: $38.72 – $53.24 (subject to qualifications, experience, and local wage laws).
