Position Summary
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports plasma center operations, ensures donor safety and eligibility, and reports to the Plasma Center Manager while following guidance from the Center Physician and Bio Life Medical Affairs.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including management of informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of standing orders and transport to emergency care.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings and medical/technical guidance.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER or EHS guidance.
- Coordinate pandemic investigations and serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS.
- High school diploma or equivalent; or graduate-level recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Current state license or certification (RN, NP, or PA).
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state basic IV therapy requirements.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Minimum two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
Hourly wage range: $38.72 – $53.24. Actual wage may vary based on qualifications and experience. Eligible for short‑term incentives and participation in medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) plan with company match, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, basic life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, well‑being benefits, up to 80 hours of sick time per year (U.S. employees) and up to 120 hours of paid vacation for new hires.
Sign‑on bonus of $2000.
