This is a temporary full-time, non-exempt position. Shiftwork is tied to this position including day, night, evening, weekends, and holidays.

- General Management:
Supervise and direct subordinate staff in their delivery and provision of resident care. Provide feedback in individual and group supervision, assess individual learning needs and provide staff training, resolve staff conflicts, act as a resource, refer staff to appropriate programs. Collaborate with the provision of resident care with a multi-disciplinary team. Notify appropriate physicians of changes in residents’ mental or physical condition, obtain necessary physicians orders, ensure accuracy and completeness of cross shift reports.
Communicate and report incidents and injuries. Works with nursing leadership to develop and adjust the nursing schedule, responds to urgent needs for staffing by communicating with qualified staff and/or reporting for vacant shifts. Participates in a rotating on-call schedule. Responsible for performance management including employee training, feedback on performance and documentation to improve performance as needed. Responsible for completing performance reviews. - Crisis Command. Assumes leadership in crisis situations. Respond immediately to all psychiatric, behavioral and medical emergencies i.e. accidents, fall injuries, fires, resident-resident, resident-staff, staff-staff conflicts, and all other disasters. Notifies appropriate personnel of incidents and injuries. Reports in compliance with regulations. Investigates incidents and completes documentation and notifies Department of Public Health and Environment and VA of reportable occurrences and/or Sentinel Events and notifies the Florence Police Department and/or Fremont County Sheriff Department and the facility’s appointed ombudsman.
Experience:
Current, valid licensure as a Registered Nurse from the Colorado Board of Nursing or any state participating in the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) Three (3) years of professional experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position
SubstitutionsAppropriate education will substitute for up to two (2) years of the required experience on a year-for-year basis
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience supervising nursing staff to include nurses and CNAs
- Familiarity with long-term care State and VA regulations and reporting requirements
- Full Background: CBI name check and fingerprint check, ICON Colorado court database, Medicare fraud database, Reference Checks, Professional License verification (licensure requirements), Drug Screen, CAPS (direct contact with adults – Mental Health Institutes, Regional Centers, Veterans Community Living Centers)
- Must pass a TB test for employment
