Quality Technician – Medical Device Manufacturing

The Quality Technician is responsible for conducting detailed visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of components and finished medical devices throughout various stages of the manufacturing process. This role ensures all products meet regulatory requirements, engineering specifications, and internal quality standards, with a strong emphasis on precision measurement and metrology practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on components and finished products using precision metrology tools
  • Conduct accurate measurements using calipers, micrometers, height gages, gage pins/blocks, and measuring microscopes
  • Utilize metrology principles to verify specifications, tolerances, and product conformance
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T to determine inspection criteria
  • Follow standardized inspection procedures, work instructions, and regulatory requirements
  • Identify, document, and report non-conformances; partner with production and engineering teams to resolve issues
  • Perform final inspections prior to product release to ensure compliance and quality standards
  • Maintain detailed and accurate inspection records, test results, and quality documentation
  • Support root cause analysis and participate in corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to inspection processes and measurement accuracy
Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience in a quality inspection or manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience with precision measuring equipment and metrology tools, including:
    • Calipers, micrometers, and height gages
    • Measuring microscopes and optical systems
    • Gage pins, blocks, and other inspection instruments
  • Working knowledge of metrology principles, measurement techniques, and calibration practices
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and tolerances (GD&T preferred)
  • Understanding of quality systems and standards in regulated environments (GMP, ISO, or medical device experience preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to detect minor defects or deviations
  • Effective documentation, communication, and organizational skills
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and within a team
Work Environment
  • Collaborative team environment working alongside quality, production, and engineering teams
  • Cleanroom manufacturing setting requiring proper gowning and PPE, including:
    • Lab coat
    • Hair net
    • Gloves
    • Safety glasses
    • Shoe covers
Schedule

Monday – Friday

8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Longmont, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr.
