Quality Inspector – Aerospace Machining | $25–$30/hr
We're seeking a Quality Inspector to join a growing precision machining team supporting the aerospace industry. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with tight-tolerance machined components in a modern quality lab equipped with new inspection technology.
In this role, you'll be responsible for performing First Article Inspections (FAIR), in-process (mid-cycle), and final inspections while ensuring parts meet strict quality standards. Many of the components are machined to extremely tight tolerances—as close as ±0.0001"—so attention to detail is essential.
Responsibilities
- Perform First Article (FAIR), in-process, and final inspections on precision machined components.
- Inspect parts to aerospace quality standards using a variety of precision measuring equipment.
- Operate a CMM to execute inspection programs (programming experience is not required).
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
- Record inspection results and maintain quality documentation.
- Work closely with machinists and engineering to resolve quality concerns and ensure product compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Previous Quality Inspector experience in a metal or plastic manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating a CMM (running inspection programs; programming not required).
- Hands-on experience performing FAIR, in-process, and final inspections.
- Strong knowledge of precision measuring equipment, including:
- Micrometers
- Calipers
- Bore gauges
- Other standard inspection tools
- Ability to inspect parts to tight tolerances.
Preferred Qualifications
- Aerospace manufacturing experience.
- Experience working in an AS9100, ISO 9001, or ISO 13485 environment.
- Experience with Zeiss CMMs.
- Exposure to Calypso software, including editing or basic programming.
- Hands-on machining, engineering, or manufacturing experience.
Why You'll Want This Opportunity
- Modern, climate-controlled quality lab with a new Zeiss CMM.
- Work with high-end CNC equipment producing precision aerospace components.
- Collaborative, team-oriented culture where leadership is hands-on and invested in employee success.
- Rapidly growing aerospace manufacturer with long-term career advancement opportunities.
