Referral Development:
Cultivate connections with individuals and organizations that influence referrals to hospice care. Other duties as assigned. Consultative Sales:
Develops a clear understanding of the referral source’s needs and provides tailored solutions, utilizing appropriate marketing collateral or educational materials. Data Management:
Accurately document daily sales calls, referral source contact information, territory updates, and communications in electronic database systems; submit required reports to management. Budget
- Submit expense reports timely and in accordance with company policies. Stay within allotted budget and work with manager if opportunities arise that require additional financial resources. Educational Outreach:
Coordinate and conduct educational events for referral sources in collaboration with the Education Department to promote hospice care and the organization’s mission. Clinical Communication:
Respond to referral source inquiries regarding patient status and provide timely updates, including notifications of patient deaths. Networking & Representation:
Attend professional meetings and networking events to represent hospice services and build community relationships. Conflict Resolution:
Serve as a liaison between referral source and hospice care to address concerns and document issues. Collaborate with appropriate team members to implement effective resolutions. Team Participation:
Engage in staff and departmental meetings, in-services, and other organizational activities. Professional Development:
Attend seminars and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills relevant to hospice care and outreach. Additional Duties:
Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support the overall goals of the hospice program. Business Development & Marketing:
Promote hospice services directly to physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and assisted living communities within an assigned territory. Develops and executes a business plan to achieve territory goals for growth. Provider

Education:

Inform healthcare professionals about hospice eligibility criteria, services, and Medicare benefit to foster strong referral relationships.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing and typing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements. [Required]

  • Knowledge (intermediate to advanced) of the sales process. [Required]

  • Knowledge of intermediate to advanced application of Microsoft Office Suite including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook as well as internet software. [Required]

  • Knowledge of patient database system. [Required]

  • Knowledge of telephone protocol. [Required]

  • Ability to complete Advent Health Hospice Orientation and Training, as necessary. [Required]

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills [Required]

  • Sense of urgency [Required]

Education:

Bachelor's [Preferred]

Field of Study:

in Marketing, healthcare, or related field

Work Experience:

2+ years marketing experience [Required]

Healthcare and/or hospice experience [Preferred]
