Site Security Manager (SSM) – New Glenn & Blue National Security
Lead and oversee construction security, planning, and coordination for secure space builds and renovations in support of New Glenn and Blue National Security (BNS) portfolio programs. The SSM is responsible for physical security as outlined in IC Directive
705, will also serve as the Contractor Special Access Program (SAP) Security Officer, and will implement security measures across administrative, factory, laboratory, and launch integration environments.
- Physical security oversight and planning – alarm response, escorting, contingency planning, accreditation packages, and construction security plans.
- Interpretation and reporting of Tempest Controls and standard operating procedures.
- Security project management for new secure space builds and renovations.
- Security hardware and technology upgrades; system implementation and maintenance.
- Information management system records, integration, and ongoing system upkeep.
- Security awareness, training, and education (SATE); conduct self‑inspections and coordinate government inspections.
- Develop and implement policies such as SOPs, OPSEC, CONOPS, EAP, EPM, CASA, and other contractual documentation.
- Manage security contracts – prime, supplier, and subcontract.
- Classification management – DD254, security classification guide, markings, and controlled unclassified information (CUI).
Incorporate COMSEC duties, including inventory, distribution, and destruction. - Maintain facility clearance status and support government customers with required program documentation (KMP, SEAD reporting, etc.).
- Personnel security management – oversee investigations, corrective action, reporting, and mitigation.
- Travel for launch activities and cross‑training in security‑related areas (~10%).
- U.S. Citizenship with an active Top‑Secret clearance and current SCI access.
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field plus two years of experience, OR high school diploma plus a minimum of four years of experience.
- Working knowledge of DoD, SAP, and IC directives; proficiency in written and oral communication.
- Highly organized, able to prioritize tasks, and team‑driven.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with security systems of record, access control, and related databases (EBIS/DISS/NISS/SC/JADE/SIMS/OnGuard Lenel/C‑CURE).
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawful admitted individual (refugee/asylum).
- Desired qualifications include secure‑space build experience, construction or GC experience, FSO/CPSO certifications, ISSM/ISSO duties and cybersecurity practices, COMSEC Account Manager certification, National Classification Management Society (NCMS) or Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) certifications.
Background check required for all positions per Blue’s Standard Background Check policy. Certain roles may require Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) background checks if ever stationed on a military installation. Drivers operating commercial vehicles must comply with relevant federal safety regulations.
