Instrumentation & Electrical Technician - Midstream Operations - 7 Days On / 7 Days Off
Crimson Group is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Electrical Technician to support upstream oil and gas operations in Colorado. This position is ideal for a hands‑on technician with strong troubleshooting and maintenance experience in automation and electrical systems.
Schedule:
7 days on / 7 days off (Thursday through Wednesday), 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM

- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on instrumentation, electrical, automation, and control systems within midstream facilities.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, configure, and maintain PLCs, RTUs, SCADA systems, analyzers, and process control equipment.
- Support operations by responding to equipment failures and minimizing downtime.
- Maintain and calibrate instrumentation, measurement equipment, and control systems.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, control schematics, and loop diagrams.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and system modifications.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company and client standards.
- Collaborate with operations personnel, engineers, and supervisors to improve system reliability and performance.
Automation Experience
Candidates must have demonstrated experience with:
- Maintenance
- Troubleshooting
- Repair
- Configuration of automation and control systems.
- Installation‑only experience does not qualify for this position.
- Hands‑on experience working with Allen‑Bradley PLC systems is required.
- Experience supporting midstream oil and gas operations is required.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills related to automation, instrumentation, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, and technical documentation.
- Experience with process control instrumentation, measurement devices, and communications systems.
- Strong understanding of safe work practices and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Ability to work independently in remote field environments.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Journeyman Electrician certification.
- Experience with SCADA systems, RTUs, and industrial communications networks.
- Experience supporting compressor stations, gas processing facilities, pipeline infrastructure, or terminal operations.
- Familiarity with measurement systems and custody transfer equipment.
- Experience with control valve maintenance and repair.
