Definition:
Oversee practices, activities and meets for the activity for which you were hired. Head coach positions include Masters Swim Coach, Water Polo Coach, Head CARA Coaches and Middle School Soccer Coaches. This position can work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Principal Duties:
• Provide positive leadership and mentorship to program participants.

• Plan and implement a variety of workouts and activities for all levels of the program.
• Instruct program participants in proper development of competitive skills and game rules
• Execute EAP's as necessary. Handle basic first aid, CPR and other lifesaving skills and
techniques certified and trained in. Complete appropriate paperwork when necessary and submit to immediate supervisor.

• Plan, prepare, and attend scheduled meets.
• Maintain and record accurate attendance figures if required
• Assist with preparation of seasonal plans and goals which can include recruiting.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and/or trainings.
• Performs essential duties and additional tasks in a manner which enhances City Attributes.
Working Environment:
Work is performed outdoors, and involves exposure to hot and cold temperatures, high humidity, direct sun, rain, snow and/or moderate to loud background noise. Must be able to work in an environment with an array of distractions, including weather conditions. Work requires frequent use of fingers and hands, walking and standing, hearing, speaking, problem solving, math, communication, and customer contact, handling multiple tasks with frequent interruptions, custodial duties, slippery/uneven surfaces, working alone or closely with others.

Work also includes light/moderate lifting and carrying (1-49 lb.), bending stooping, kneeling, and possibly driving City vehicle.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age. A minimum of two years of competitive experience preferably with High School or competitive age group team (U.S.S.) level. Coaching experience preferred. Valid Colorado Driver License. Depending on the position:
Current certification in Community First Aid, CPR/AED, Concussion Awareness Training, current American Red Cross Lifeguard, with certification in Safety Training for coaches preferred.
