As Director of the Business Unit for Global Supply Chain, you will develop, lead, and implement the overall strategy of the business unit. You will also oversee supplier performance (quality, delivery, inventory) and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve production issues and drive operational excellence.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
Develop and implement the unit’s strategy aligned with corporate goals.
Identify improvement opportunities with suppliers and run projects to optimize performance and reduce costs.
Monitor KPIs and define corrective actions to achieve targets.
Analyze performance data and adjust plans to sustain or improve results.
Collaborate with suppliers on strategic projects to enhance performance or reduce costs.
Provide strategic guidance on supplier relationships and categorize suppliers (growth, maintenance, divestment).
Review and approve key supplier strategies and participate in the Supplier Strategy Review Board (SSRB).
Ensure budget and resources for executing supplier strategies.
Oversee contract performance and resolve non‑performance issues.
Identify contractual needs and work with contracts teams to implement solutions.
Coordinate purchasing requests and orders, adjusting for tooling or production acceleration needs.
Direct inventory strategy for products/sites, ensuring efficient material flow.
Act as escalation point for suppliers and internal partners, ensuring rapid resolution of issues.
Drive quality and delivery performance, promoting long‑term initiatives for sustainable solutions.
Participate actively in leadership meetings to present performance results and strategy.
Work closely with operations, quality, and contracts teams to align with global strategic objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, or a related field (engineering degree preferred).
Minimum 10 years of supply‑chain or manufacturing operations experience.
Minimum 10 years of people leadership experience.
Strong proficiency in SAP; knowledge of Power BI is an asset.
Project management experience; PMP certification is an asset.
Solid knowledge of manufacturing environments, continuous improvement, and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
Financial acumen to support business decisions.
Leadership, team development, and influencing skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with political savvy.
Sense of urgency, agility, and rapid response in a fast‑paced environment.
Strategic mindset and attention to detail.
Curiosity, openness, and solution orientation.
Fluency in French (work environment) and strong English reading/writing for technical documentation.
Location and Work Hours
Longueuil, Québec – Monday to Friday, flexible hours, exclusively on‑site.
