Carpenter & Measurement SpecialistAbout the Role
The Carpenter & Measurement Specialist is a critical hands‑on role at Kitchen Makeovers. You are the bridge between a sold project and a flawless installation. Your work directly impacts quality, efficiency, customer experience, and gross profit.
This role combines technical site measurement
, client‑facing accuracy
, and high‑level carpentry execution
. If measurements are wrong, everything downstream breaks -- so precision, ownership, and pride in craftsmanship are non‑negotiable.
Site Measurement & Project Accuracy
- Conduct detailed, accurate site measurements for all cabinet refacing and carpentry projects
- Create 3D renderings for carpentry projects based on site conditions using Mozaik
- Review the scope with the client on-site and obtain sign‑off during the measurement visit
- Ensure measurements, plans, and details are complete, accurate, and error‑free before ordering
- Finalize and submit material orders immediately after measurements
- Confirm materials align with project scope and installation requirements
- Work closely with the scheduling and production teams to avoid delays or re‑orders
- Execute high‑quality carpentry work during scheduled installation days
- Install cabinet boxes, panels, pull‑outs, and custom carpentry elements to Kitchen Makeovers' standards
- Solve on‑site challenges proactively and professionally
- Leave every site clean, complete, and client‑approved
- Take responsibility for carpentry quality across projects
- Maintain a clean, organized carpentry van and tool setup
- Keep the tool room organized, stocked, and functional
- Flag issues early and take ownership of solutions -- no passing problems downstream
- Communicate clearly with Production, Scheduling, and Sales
- Use Jobber and company systems to document work accurately
- Attend required production meetings prepared and on time
- Immediately report any safety, quality, damage, or warranty issues
- Near‑zero re‑orders due to measurement errors
- Installations completed on time, within scope, and to spec
- Clients feel confident and informed throughout the process
- Strong collaboration with production and scheduling teams
- Tools, van, and projects are organized and predictable
- 3‑5+ years of carpentry experience (cabinetry or finish carpentry preferred)
- Strong technical measurement skills -- accuracy matters more than speed
- Comfortable with client‑facing conversations and sign‑offs
- Ability to read plans, create 3D renderings, and visualize builds
- Organized, proactive, and accountable
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company vehicle
Schedule & Compensation
- Employment type:
Full‑time employee (permanent) - Expected pay range: $27 to $35 per hour (CAD) (depending on experience)
- Monday‑Friday, daytime (some flexibility during peak weeks)
