Landscape Labourer

Overview

As a laborer, you will be part of the team responsible for carrying out the construction of landscaping projects. This is a physical role that requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work outdoors as part of a team.

• Help maintain a clean and organized job site.
• Perform manual tasks such as transporting materials, mixing concrete, shoveling soil and stone, placing stones and rocks, and planting perennials, shrubs, and trees.
• Assist the foreman with all planned project tasks: preparation and demolition, installation according to architectural plans, finishing, and cleanup.
• Ensure the required quality of work for each task.
• Maintain health and safety standards on all job sites.
• Operate small tools, small machinery/mini-excavator, and dump truck as needed and according to experience.
• Install mulch, decorative stones, and other landscaping materials.
• Install sod.
• Perform any other necessary tasks related to landscaping, as needed.

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team, outdoors, with good physical endurance, a positive attitude, and strong energy.
• Ability to use tools to perform manual tasks.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Reliable transportation to the DRWP office and/or a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and maintain a healthy work environment.
• Demonstrate effective leadership and explicit communication skills with team members, the project manager, and all other parties involved.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills, excellent team spirit, and patience in demanding situations.
