Project Superintendent – Commercial Construction
Location:
Longview, TX
Duration:
Fulltime | direct hire
Salary:
Up to $80,000 (Depending on experience)
About the Opportunity
We are supporting one of our clients, a well-established general contracting firm based in Northeast Texas, in their search for an experienced Project Superintendent. The company specializes in general contracting, construction management, and design/build services across commercial, healthcare, industrial, institutional, religious, higher education, and K-12 sectors.
This position is based out of Longview, TX and oversees commercial and industrial construction projects within approximately a 90-mile radius.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire construction process from mobilization to project close-out
- Interpret and implement project plans and specifications
- Attend and actively participate in pre-construction and post-construction meetings
- Coordinate with the Project Manager during the submittals phase to schedule subcontractors, equipment, and material deliveries
- Supervise permitting processes, schedule inspections, and meet with inspectors on-site
- Maintain positive collaboration with Owners and Architects
- Manage daily field performance of subcontractors to ensure compliance with project specifications
- Maintain a clean and safe jobsite; conduct regular site reviews and safety meetings
- Implement and enforce site-specific Safety Plans
- Proactively resolve issues to prevent project delays or cost impacts
- Complete daily field reports
- Manage project close-out including punch lists, occupancy, and final acceptance
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in commercial and/or industrial construction projects valued at $1MM+
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or equivalent work experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, and blueprint reading
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Proven leadership ability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel required
- Experience with MS Project, Procore, or similar project management software is a plus
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Ability to handle physical demands of ground-up and multi-story commercial projects (uneven terrain, stairs, varying weather conditions)
- Willingness to operate equipment or assist with job-related tasks when necessary to meet project deadlines
