We are continuously seeking qualified Construction Assistants / Operators with a CDL; whether you are entry-level, mid, or senior for upcoming and future projects! This is an evergreen requisition, meaning we are building a pipeline of skilled candidates as new opportunities arise. This position requires extensive travel
, with assignments lasting multiple weeks at a time.
Daily per diem and hotel accommodations are provided during travel.
About the Role:
In this role, you will support construction operations through a combination of hands‑on fieldwork, equipment operation, and commercial driving
. Responsibilities may vary based on experience and skill level, ranging from general labor and site preparation to operating construction equipment.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring materials, equipment, and crews are safely and efficiently transported and supported on job sites. The ideal candidate is safety‑focused, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, field‑based environment.
Minimum Qualifications:- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Assist with site preparation, general labor, and job site cleanup
- Experience operating commercial vehicles in a construction or similar environment.
- Basic knowledge of construction site safety practices and protocols.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- SAFELY operate commercial vehicles to transport materials, tools, and equipment to job sites
- Ability to travel for multiple weeks at a time.
- Previous experience as a construction assistant, equipment operator, or laborer.
- Familiarity with construction equipment and tools.
- Certification in OSHA safety standards or similar safety training.
- Ability to operate additional construction machinery or equipment.
- Basic mechanical skills for minor vehicle and equipment maintenance.
- Experience operating equipment (backhoe, trencher, mini‑excavator, auger, and forklift)
- Experience in the corrosion control industry is a plus.
- Operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently to transport construction materials, tools, and equipment to designated job sites.
- Assist construction crews with loading and unloading materials, setting up equipment, and performing general labor tasks as needed.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational readiness.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulatory requirements related to vehicle operation and construction site activities.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate deliveries, schedules, and on‑site support tasks.

SAFETY measures at all times - Load and unload equipment and materials
- Prepare construction site and clean up when job is completed
- Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, tampers, and rakes
- SAFELY drive trucks and pull trailers with equipment and materials to construction sites
- Perform routine/preventative maintenance and inspection on equipment
- Help clean and organize trucks and warehouse areas
- Other duties as needed
Physical Requirements and
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces, such as trenches, pits, and manholes
- Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull objects up to 50 pounds regularly
- Must be able to climb stairs, ramps and ladders regularly
- Sitting, standing, walking, or driving for long periods of time (1-3 hours)
- Must be able to see, hear, and respond quickly to dangerous situations
- Primarily working outdoors, including extreme weather conditions
- Working around moving machinery, vehicles, and heavy equipment
