Job Description
  • The Dental Assistant will assist the clinic dentist during examination and treatment of patients, includes helping patients remain as comfortable as possible before, during, and after treatment.
  • Exposing and processing dental x-rays;
  • Prepares patient, sterilizes and disinfects instruments, sets up instrument trays, prepares materials.
  • Providing patients with oral care instructions following such procedures as surgery or placement of a restoration
  • Makes study models of patients teeth.
  • Performing administrative assistance to the clinic and scheduling tasks.
  • Assisting the dentist during treatment.
  • Carries out other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Licensed by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners
  • Certificate of registration issued by the State Board for dental x-rays
  • 1 to 3 years of related dental clinic experience
  • Mental and physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the position.
  • Requires a valid Texas Driver's License, appropriate driving record and auto liability insurance that meets the minimum required
  • Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of dental care.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
  • Knowledge of community patient care services in area of expertise.
  • Energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required.
  • Superior organizational and problem solving skills
