R Welding Process Specialist (Open)

Location:

Longview, TX – Retail shop

Responsibilities
  • Grow profitable sales of welding processes and welding applications to new and existing customers.
  • Develop in-depth technical knowledge to match customer needs with appropriate Airgas products and services.
  • Utilize Airgas sales tools (efficiency analysis, welding surveys, scope of work) to promote sales and margin profitability.
  • Travel to customer sites to assess current welding processes and recommend Airgas solutions.
  • Provide customers with sales knowledge and marketing literature on Airgas Shielding Gases, welding products and services.
  • Improve selling skills and technical/product knowledge, becoming well‑versed in flexible and fixed automation applications and CNC cutting systems.
  • Operate safely at all times and proactively promote safety by example.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as required.
Required Qualifications
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) required.
  • Welding Engineering degree strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of welding processes and applications.
  • Relationship management and consultative aptitude with problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships across all levels and roles.
  • Knowledge of TQM, Lean and/or Six Sigma principles.
  • Strong mathematical, problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication; active listening.
  • Self‑motivated, results‑oriented with excellent organization and time management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Welding Engineering degree or equivalent military welding training, bachelor’s engineering degree, or additional years of formal welding training/experience.
  • Prior technical sales experience preferred.
  • Four years of prior welding industry experience.
