Key Job ResponsibilitiesAs an intern in our engineering department, you will play a vital role supporting various stages of product testing, development, and analysis. Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating on loader testing activities such as controlled environment and sound tests, ensuring adherence to performance and safety standards.
- Conducting meticulous data collection and assisting in drafting detailed reports and procedural documents to support continuous improvement efforts.
- Operating and maintaining test tracks and machinery, gaining firsthand experience with equipment functionality and operational challenges.
- Participating in strain gauging tests to measure stress impacts and contribute analytical insights usable in design refinement.
- Supporting documentation requirements related to project requests and evaluation boards, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Learning and applying LINCS software for data analysis, supported by comprehensive training to develop proficiency.
- Mastering advanced measurement techniques using 3D equipment such as the FARO arm and Laser Tracker, enabling precise dimensional assessments critical for quality control.
- Assisting engineers in investigating Manufacturing Root Cause Studies (MRS) to identify and resolve equipment issues effectively.
- Contributing to technical projects through spreadsheet modeling, including creation and manipulation of pivot tables for data visualization.
- Preparing 3D drawings and visual content to support technical reports and presentations, enhancing clarity and communication.
This hands-on engagement ensures you develop technical competencies alongside project management, teamwork, and problem-solving skills that are essential for a successful engineering career.
Qualifications/RequirementsIdeal candidates for this internship program possess a combination of practical experience and academic preparation in engineering or related technology fields. Key qualifications include:
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in technical or mechanical roles such as mechanic work, electrical repairs, automotive service, agriculture, or other practical disciplines that exhibit problem-solving and manual skills.
- Current enrollment in an accredited engineering or engineering technology degree program, ideally at sophomore or junior level, although freshmen with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
