About the Role
As a Commercial Lender, you will serve as a member of the Lending division responsible for development and management of a commercial loan portfolio. You will prospect for quality loan opportunities and generate and maintain a quality loan portfolio.
Duties & Responsibilities- Develop and manage a commercial loan portfolio for the bank.
- Focus on making high quality loans, including C&I and owner-occupied CRE loans. Knowledge of SBA loans is required.
- Act as a calling officer and prospect for new loans.
- Demonstrate superior credit skills and loan management abilities for presenting new loans for approval and maintaining the existing loan portfolio.
- Develop measurable goals and objectives that focus on both customer service and long-term profits.
- Work closely with management to formulate strategic planning goals and objectives to grow the bank’s loan portfolio and net income while providing loan services to customers and cultivating relationships with potential customers.
- Keep abreast of industry and professional trends and products to ensure the current and future effectiveness and profitability of the bank’s services and policies.
- Assist in the positive image and growth of the bank.
- Comply with all federal, state and local regulatory rules and regulations governing financial institutions, as well as all company policies and procedures.
- Complete and pass all required regulatory compliance training as assigned.
- Participate in project meetings.
- Oversee lobby services, personal banking, cash operations, and loan floor supervisors.
- Provide daily oversight in absence of the market supervisor/president.
- Perform any additional duties and tasks assigned by management.
- Sound knowledge of banking concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of compliance with federal and state regulations pertaining to the banking industry.
- Strong knowledge of lending products and services.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to handle high-pressure situations.
- Excellent management, organizational, planning, time-management, and project-management skills.
- Excellent written and communication and customer‑relations skills.
- Ability to set strategic goals and ensure high quality of products and services.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Must live within 30 minutes of the bank's location listed below.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a business-related field.
- Minimum of three years of in‑market experience.
- Minimum of three years of commercial lending experience.
- Previous credit training required.

Physical DemandsThe employee may be required to sit, use hands in repetitive motions, talk or hear, stand, walk, lift, or reach. Must operate routine office equipment, work extended hours or travel off site, maintain reliable attendance, and climb or descend stairs in emergency situations. Close visual acuity is required for data analysis, transcription, and computer work.
