Job Summary
The registration and scheduling clerk is responsible for efficient, friendly admission of patients to the ambulatory surgery center. They ensure the surgery schedule is accurate before the day of surgery to guide the team in safe care, manage patient financial collections and reporting, monitor traffic patterns and attend to patients and significant others while waiting, support the Medical Record function, and contribute to quality improvement by collecting physician post‑op call sheet data and documenting in the OR patient medical record.

Position OverviewFull‑time, Monday‑Thursday. We seek an exceptional Registration/Scheduling Clerk who takes pride in their work, loves serving others, plays well as a team member, has an open‑growth mindset, and maintains an exceptional level of customer service.
Experience- One to two years of health care experience, including one year of registration and medical records/health information duties.
- Experience with QAPI programs.

EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent.
Job Duties- Generate and distribute the ambulatory surgery schedule.
- Use the schedule to guide registration activity.
- Guide patients in completing necessary forms before pre‑operative care.
- Code and data‑entry of encounters (procedure codes, G codes, etc.).
- Audit work to assure accuracy in operative reports.
- Collaborate to obtain accurate medical record data and documents.
- Ensure medical record chart order follows policy and procedure.
- Maintain security of all records.
- Assist in arranging timely completion of medical record signatures.
- Maintain patient schedule logs.
- Participate in post‑op calls to patients as needed.
- Submit QAPI data regarding post‑op patient communication by physician.
- Proficient in reading and writing the English language.
- Proficient in medical terminology.
- Strong math, analysis, and basic accounting skills.
- Computer proficient with electronic health record and printer technology.
- Computer programs: MS Word, Excel, electronic patient management system.
- Self‑motivated and independent, with critical thinking and problem‑solving ability.
