- Valid Physical Therapy license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Doctorate degree in physical therapy
- Physical Therapy experience, but New Grads are welcome
- Other certifications or licenses may be required
The Physical Therapist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with physical impairments to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life. Working in hospitals, clinics, and rehabilitation centers, they create personalized, evidence‑based treatment plans using exercise and manual therapy to help patients recover and become independent.
Essential Work Functions- Evaluate patients’ physical conditions using standardized tests, clinical examinations, and patient history.
- Develop personalized rehabilitation programs based on assessment findings and patient goals.
- Implement physical therapy treatment plans using various techniques.
- Operate specialized equipment and modalities safely, ensuring proper maintenance.
- Assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and document evaluations.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and others.
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and injury prevention.
- Maintain a safe treatment environment and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development.
- Collaborate in discharge planning for smooth transitions.
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice.
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills.
- Physical Abilities – remain stationary, move about, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, bend.
- Interpersonal Skills – work effectively with various personnel, maintain a positive attitude and professionalism.
- Technical/Motor Skills – grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and assist with procedures or equipment.
- Mental Requirements – cope with frequent contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work with or without supervision, handle irregular activity.
- Sensory – possess visual acuity and effective communication.
