Position Title
CUSTODIAL DIRECTOR - LONGVIEW, TX
Job SummaryAs Custodial Director, you will be responsible for the overall cleanliness, sanitation, and security of the assigned buildings. You will plan and coordinate all janitorial activities, supervise personnel, develop supervisors and hourly employees, and ensure customer satisfaction through high quality standards while maintaining a safe and equitable environment. Your responsibilities will include assigning duties, inspecting work, investigating complaints, ensuring equipment is maintained, managing supplies, and taking periodic inventory.
You will train, discipline, and recommend dismissals of employees, and serve as a liaison between building occupants and janitorial staff.
- Communicate between various shifts to ensure task completion.
- Train workers in janitorial methods, procedures, and equipment operation.
- Issue supplies and equipment to workers to ensure quality and timely service delivery.
- Perform daily inspections and follow through on assignments.
- Cross‑train and develop personnel for multiple positions.
- Maintain weekly staff reports and inspections.
- Meet with staff weekly to review task completion and future projects.
- Secure buildings after completion of work.
- Guide project completion to ensure timely and within‑budget completion.
- Report budgetary issues.
- College degree preferred.
- One to two years as a Manager in housekeeping or service‑related field with high customer/client contact required.
- Strong work ethic, intense drive, and initiative for quality and customer service.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills in one‑on‑one and group situations.
- Ability to engage and motivate staff.
- Understanding of budgeting processes and awareness of profit and loss concepts.
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
- Excellent time management skills required.
- Ability to work with heavy cleaning equipment.
- Valid driver’s license for safe operation of company vehicles in accordance with traffic laws.
