District Manager
Location: Longview, TX or Shreveport, LA
As a District Manager for Airgas, you will pioneer a high‑performance culture rooted in safety and excellence. You will mentor and empower sales teams, advance market presence, and ensure operational excellence across branches.
Responsibilities- Empower, mentor, and support the sales team to advance safety standards and performance milestones.
- Provide diligent P&L stewardship for assigned branches and territory, ensuring long‑term fiscal health.
- Cultivate exceptional customer service and product knowledge, fostering collaboration for problem resolution.
- Advocate for safety measures through interactive meetings and ensure alignment with all safety protocols.
- Optimize profit margins by implementing strategic plans, aligning operating expenses with growth milestones and customer service goals.
- Enhance and sustain staff selling skills and product expertise through continuous learning.
- Foster professional growth and provide proactive guidance on company policies and customer service excellence.
- Partner with the Branch Manager in hiring, training, and holistic management of employees.
- Support outside sales representatives through insightful sales data and thoughtful forecasts.
- Coordinate paperwork, inventory, pricing, and profitability to ensure operational health.
- Facilitate personnel matters and ensure facility upkeep for a welcoming and safe environment.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience (ideally 7+ years in a relevant field).
- Demonstrated history of advancing sustainable sales success and profitable growth.
- Proven history of increasing responsibility in a business‑to‑business sales‑related or sales operations position, including mentoring a team and stewarding a P&L.
- Proactive leadership with a history of supporting and mentoring teams for at least 3 years.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, focused on building alignment and staying organized.
- Comfortable with Microsoft solutions, especially Excel and Word, and experienced in data entry and order extraction.
- Numerical proficiency for practical business applications and analytical reporting.
- Resilience and adaptability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to foster understanding while interacting with diverse teams and personalities.
- Deep comfort with business and accounting concepts, including ROI, P&L, balance sheets, interest and leasing calculations, and margin responsibilities.
- Physical capability to lift 25–75 lbs. as needed to support operations.
- Valid driver’s license and insured personal vehicle.
- Comfortable working in a drug‑free environment.
- Flexibility to adjust schedule to meet customer and management needs.
- History of advancing sales growth with consistent year‑over‑year progress.
- Experience in the industrial gas industry and/or welding.
- Sales team management experience focused on sustainable growth.
- Public speaking capabilities to represent the brand with confidence.
- Natural ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
- Experience with SAP.
