DescriptionSummary:
The Supervisor Communications Operations EMS oversees the daily operations of the 9-1-1 Communication Operations Center, ensuring efficient and effective emergency response coordination. This role involves supervising staff, maintaining telecommunications systems, conducting quality assurance reviews, and preparing detailed reports and records. The Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with operational standards and delivering high-quality public safety communications services.

Competencies:
Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. - Implements, coordinates and maintains operations of the operations in the 9-1-1 Communications Center during their shift.
- Responsible for overseeing posting, call-taking, transfers, and duties for ground dispatchers and call-takers.
- Responsible for call review and grading to maintain EMD-Q certification.
- Works with Flight Communications II to maintain overall system status.
- Coordinates with AOC, Logistics and QRV's concerning vehicle status, equipment and work orders.
- Notifies appropriate administration for out of service units, system level changes, system failures or high-level emergencies.
- Holds primary responsibility for rounding monthly, quarterly reviews and annual evaluations for shift.
- Oversees the distribution of policy changes and updates to shift.
- Responsible for shift reports concerning Red Dispatch Times, Non-Geocoded Addresses, and Extended Response Times.
- Completes Shift Supervisor reporting.
- Notifies IT with technical problems in communication center.
- Ability to assist when all other staff is engaged with 911 calls, dispatching units and other tasks as assigned.
- Responsible for setting and enforcing policies and goals under the directions of Chief Communication Officer.
- Maintains certification and skills to perform Ground, Flight, and Call Taking Duties.
- Attends certain departmental staff meetings and continuing education meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
