Shop Hands

Job Description

We are seeking dependable and safety-minded Shop Hands to support daily operations in an oil and gas equipment shop. This role is ideal for individuals with mechanical aptitude, basic hand tool knowledge, and a strong work ethic. Shop Hands assist with equipment maintenance, cleaning, organization, and general shop support to ensure safe and efficient operations.

• Assist mechanics and technicians with oil and gas equipment maintenance and repairs
• Operate and demonstrate safe use of basic hand tools (wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, hammers, torque tools, etc.)
• Clean, inspect, and prepare equipment for service, shipment, or storage
• Load, unload, and move equipment and materials within the shop and yard
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work area
• Perform basic mechanical tasks such as bolt-up, part removal, and assembly support
• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and job-site procedures
• Report equipment damage, safety concerns, or needed repairs to supervisors
• Perform other shop and yard duties as assigned

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and their proper use required
• Mechanical aptitude or prior shop, oilfield, or industrial experience preferred
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Willingness to learn oil and gas equipment and shop procedures
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a shop/yard environment
• Reliable transportation and strong attendance record

• Prior experience in oil & gas, equipment repair, or industrial shop settings
• Forklift or overhead crane experience
• Familiarity with safety practices and PPE requirements
