The Tool Room Attendant supports fabrication operations by ensuring tools, equipment, and materials are properly maintained, organized, and available to the shop floor. This role plays a critical part in maintaining a safe and efficient work environment by issuing tools, monitoring equipment condition, and assisting with basic welding and fabrication support tasks as needed. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to recognize equipment or material issues that could impact production or quality.

Operates Safely and is an advocate for Safety

• Welds load path components in flat, vertical, horizontal, or overhead positions.
• Ignites torches or starts power supplies and strikes arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded, completing electrical circuits.
• Clamps, holds, tack-welds, heat-bends, and grinds load path component parts.
• Detects faulty operation of equipment and defective materials; notifies supervisors.
• Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments.
• Monitors the fitting burning and welding process to avoid overheating of parts, warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.
• Examines work pieces for defects and measures material with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Recognizes, sets up, and operates hand and power tools common to the welding trade.
• Operates safety equipment

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or three years related experience and/or training required; or equivalent combination
