Repair Technician Trainee

The Repair Technician Trainee is responsible for tear down and rebuild of a variety of valves and packing cases.

• Inspect a variety of valves and packing cases after tear down.
• Read dial calipers.
• Recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.
• Operate basic hand tools.
• Stand and operate a sand blaster.
• Apply basic machining knowledge.
• Maintain and clean the shop.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

• Observe safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Communicate effectively with customers or employees.
• Use a Windows‑based computer.
• Be a proactive, problem‑solving individual who manages a varied workload with changing priorities.
• Apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Handle problems with multiple variables in standardized situations.
• Successfully complete the Work Steps assessment.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear and occasionally required to stand and walk. The noise level in the work environment is usually high. Required travel is up to 5%. This position is considered a safety‑sensitive position.
