As a Coil Taper, you will be integral to ensuring the precision and integrity of motor components that undergo rigorous performance standards. Primary Responsibilities:
- Strictly adhere to all safety protocols, promoting a culture of safety within the workshop and during operations.
- Perform thorough cleaning and routine maintenance of all assigned equipment, tooling, and work areas to ensure operational efficiency and workplace safety.
- Operate taping machinery with minimal supervision, conducting setups accurately and efficiently according to production requirements and specifications.
- Demonstrate precision in work by holding close tolerances critical to motor component quality, while minimizing material waste and scrap.
- Utilize effective verbal and written communication skills for reporting and data entry tasks, ensuring accurate documentation and coordination with team members.
- Maintain focus and attention to detail throughout the standard routing hours, supporting the shop's productivity and quality objectives.
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to a positive working environment.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Candidates must complete the Work Keys assessment through Texas Workforce Solutions as part of the hiring process to demonstrate essential workplace skills.
- This is an entry-level position suitable for individuals with up to 2 years of related experience or comparable mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions precisely, including repeating established procedures consistently and reliably.
- Basic proficiency in reading blueprints or technical drawings to comprehend motor winding and taping specifications.
- Must meet physical demands consistently required by the role, including occasional lifting of 21-50 lbs, frequent lifting of 11-25 lbs, and constant lifting of 1-10 lbs, alongside the capability to stand for more than two-thirds of the work shift.
- Successful completion of background checks, pre-employment physical examinations, and drug screenings is required.
- Availability to work 2nd shift hours with flexibility to accommodate overtime and weekend schedules as operational demands dictate.
