Registered Nurse
The competent nurse practices independently in a clinical setting. Provides routine and complex care with the ability to manage long-range goals or plans. Develops the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates tasks to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation. Meets expectations of applicable competencies, demonstrating leadership qualities. Consistent with professional standards, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process.
This includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Utilizes appropriate protocols to administer medications and treatments. Monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers.
Identifies issues and resources as needed.
Experience:
1 year in related nursing specialty preferred License: RN License in state of Texas or compact
Certifications:
Current BLS certification Current ACLS certification Current PALS certification Current TNCC certification Must-Have:
Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing preferred
