American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Telemetry/IMC Med-Surg position requiring 2 years of experience and current BLS/ACLS certifications.

• Work in the IMC Med-Surg unit of a hospital environment
• Patient population includes a mix of diagnoses and acuity levels, including respiratory conditions, sepsis, and multiple co-morbidities
• Telemetry monitoring required for patients
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 13-week assignment length
• Full-time position

• Active RN license in Texas or compact license required
• Current BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Current ACLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a related nursing specialty required
• BSN preferred

• Provide nursing care utilizing the full nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers
• Make appropriate care assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed
• Practice independently while demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects of clinical situations
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates may be accepted depending on position availability
• Previous CHRISTUS Health System employees must have a 6-month separation period before starting a new travel assignment
