Senior NDT Inspector (Full-time, on-site)
Location:
Longview, TX
Responsible for conducting NDT performance testing and evaluations using phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT) and other methods, producing reports, identifying improvements, and ensuring data security. Perform non‑destructive testing methods such as PT, UTSW, PAUT, assessing integrity against codes, standards, and specifications, reporting results to applicable personnel. Support job preparation, coordination, and reporting as directed.
Qualifications- Level II PAUT or UTSW with experience in weld inspection, crack sizing, and corrosion mapping.
- Experience in ultrasonic inspection of high‑attenuation materials.
- Knowledge of industry‑specific tests and equipment.
- Technical skills to set up and standardize NDT equipment and evaluate results versus applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
- Proof of prior certification or completion of an ASNT recommended training program for the applicable method.
- Ability to obtain NDT Level II certifications in accordance with Trinity Rail’s written practice.
- Experience using semi‑automated and fully automated scanners (desired).
- Understanding of welding and welding inspection.
- Organized, initiative‑taking, with ability to lead, train others, and be team‑ and growth‑focused.
- Able to read, comprehend, and prepare technical specifications and procedures.
- Good interpersonal skills for interaction with customers and employees.
- Experience operating advanced UT equipment and analyzing results.
- Proficient in interpreting codes and standards (ASME B31.3, API 650, AWS D1.1).
- Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in reports.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Teamwork and task‑prioritization abilities.

- Present and available for work.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Proficient use of inspection tools and measuring equipment.
- Understanding and application of quality science and tools.
- Possible performance as Welding Inspector Specialist (WIS) Level II or Quality Inspection Specialist (QIS) Level II achievable within 6 months.
- Work under supervision of Level 2 certified inspector.
- Follow all safety rules and practices.
- Possible involvement in safety committees or initiatives.
