Job Description:
The Manager, Quality is responsible for leading and advancing the organization's quality management programs to ensure products consistently meet customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and company standards. This role develops and maintains quality systems, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and partners with cross-functional teams to improve product quality and operational performance. The Manager, Quality provides leadership in problem solving, corrective action processes, and compliance activities while fostering a culture of quality and accountability throughout the organization.
This position contributes to operational excellence by ensuring effective quality controls, reducing defects, and supporting overall business objectives.
- Provides leadership and strategic direction for quality assurance and quality control activities across manufacturing operations.
- Develops, implements, and maintains quality management systems, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with internal standards and customer requirements.
- Monitors quality performance metrics, identifies improvement opportunities, and drives corrective and preventive actions to address quality concerns.
- Leads investigations into product and process nonconformances and facilitates root cause analysis efforts.
- Collaborates with engineering, production, supply chain, and customer-facing teams to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Oversees internal and external audits and supports compliance with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Establishes quality objectives and measures progress against organizational goals.
- Promotes a culture of continuous improvement, quality awareness, and operational excellence throughout the organization.
- Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality programs and processes.
- Analyze quality data and performance trends to identify opportunities for improvement and risk mitigation.
- Manage quality audits, inspections, and compliance activities to ensure adherence to established standards.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturing processes.
- Develop and maintain quality documentation, procedures, and work instructions.
- Coordinate customer and supplier quality activities, including corrective action and issue resolution processes.
- Monitor quality key performance indicators and prepare reports for leadership review.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, or a related discipline; 5+ years of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment, including 2+ years of leadership experience.
- Preferred:
Master's degree in a related discipline. - Professional certifications in quality management, continuous improvement, or quality systems are preferred.
- HVAC manufacturing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, auditing practices, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive action processes.
- Knowledge of industry quality standards, regulatory requirements, and compliance principles.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with standard business and quality management tools and systems.
- Frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout manufacturing and office environments.
