Our Display/DOT Delivery Assistants are responsible for the setup of merchandise in Havertys showrooms. They also deliver furniture to customers’ homes, providing a positive experience. The role requires a focus on superior customer service, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
Pay & SchedulePay starts at $16.50 per hour, with additional pay for experience. The schedule is typically 4 days per week, Wednesday to Saturday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain merchandise on the floor in functional condition, ordering parts and repairing as needed.
- Assist in moving and arranging merchandise on the showroom floor.
- Support deliveries to customers by unloading furniture from trucks and placing it in homes.
- Assist the Display Coordinator with floor moves and processing new accessories.
- Aim lighting on furniture and accessories as directed.
- Place POP material, hang banners and display signs.
- Help customers carry merchandise to their vehicles.
- Provide light housekeeping support for showroom cleanliness.
- Maintain the stockroom orderly, sweeping and mopping as needed.
- Ensure exits are lit and free of obstruction.
- Assist in maintenance of the grounds.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Delivery experience preferred; training provided.
- Current driver’s license and clean driving record with minimal moving violations.
- Ability to push, pull, and repeatedly team lift 150 pounds.
- Must achieve DOT certification (company paid).
- Pass background requirements, MVR, and drug screen including THC testing.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience in retail, warehouse, or delivery roles preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Attention to detail, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Team player, able to assist on the delivery truck.
- Knowledge of safety protocols.
- Flexible to work varied schedules, including weekends.
- Fast‑paced, customer‑focused showrooms with a 140‑year heritage.
- Dress code requires uniforms and professional appearance; steel‑toe boots required on truck.
- Role includes delivery truck assistance and on‑site customer service.
- Must successfully complete a physical assessment.
- Stand for extended periods, lift and move furniture up to 150 pounds.
- Drive, enter and exit customers’ homes, and handle materials safely.
- Variations in color recognition required.
