Cashier - Hope's Closet

The cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer and donor care while maintaining a safe and clean sales floor.

Essential Duties Promote friendly and helpful customer service and donor care.

Operate the cash register and answers the telephone.

Stock shelves and racks with processed merchandise.

Always keep the store neat and clean.

Assist donors as they arrive.

Unload and sort materials in the donation area.

Assist with loading and unloading merchandise and equipment as needed.

Demonstrate professionalism and presents a friendly, cooperative attitude towards customers and co-workers.

Ability to multi-task, make quick decisions and work in a team oriented, fast paced environment.

Must be punctual and have dependable attendance.

Always follow all policies and procedures.

All other duties as instructed by the Manager.

Ability to respond to telephones, written correspondence, and other auditory and visual stimulation.

Ability to remain calm under stress and have the emotional and physical stamina to deal with a variety of stressful situations.

At least 6 months' customer service/cashier experience preferred.

Frequently sit, stand, bend, kneel, and walk.

Frequently lift and carry items up to 40 pounds.

Occasionally climb stairs or inclined surfaces.

Occasionally work outside during night hours and/or inclement weather.
