The Armed Security Officer provides a visible security presence and supports a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors within assigned healthcare facilities. Responsibilities include conducting patrols, responding to emergency situations, preparing incident reports, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and safety procedures.
This is a full-time, on-site position
. Multiple shifts may be available. Rotation between nearby facilities may be required.
- Conduct routine patrols of assigned areas.
- Respond to emergency codes and security incidents.
- Prepare accurate and objective incident reports.
- Assist staff with safety interventions using approved de-escalation techniques.
- Monitor surveillance and communication systems.
- Enforce access control and parking policies.
- Report safety hazards and security concerns.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
This role may require:
- Extended periods of standing and walking
- Responding to emergency or high-stress situations
- Outdoor activity in varying weather conditions
- Occasional lifting or physical intervention when required for safety

- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Two (2) years of armed security experience preferred.
- Military, law enforcement, or healthcare security experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license where driving is a required job duty.
- Active state armed security license prior to carrying a weapon, where applicable.
- Required firearms and defensive tactics certifications prior to armed assignment.
- BLS certification within 60 days of hire.
- Verbal de-escalation training within 60 days of hire.
Where permitted by law and relevant to the position, post-offer background checks, psychological evaluations, and drug screenings may be conducted in compliance with applicable regulations.
