Fleet Service Technician
Transdev in LONGVIEW, TEXAS is seeking an experienced Fleet Service Technician to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Fleet Service Technician, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles. The position operates on a four‑day work week schedule.
Compensation and Benefits- Competitive compensation package: minimum $18.00 – maximum $30.00 per hour
- Vacation: minimum 2 weeks
- Sick days: 5 days
- Holidays: 12 days (8 standard, 4 floating)

- Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software to troubleshoot engine issues.
- Perform moderate‑complexity repairs and replacements on engine components, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Assist A‑Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow.
- Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize engine performance.
- Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for engines.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.
- Other duties as required.
- 2 years of experience as a mechanic.
- ASE certifications preferred; program provided.
- Mechanical tool set.
- Ability to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
- Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
- Work outside in varying temperatures, weather, and humidity; 100% of the job is performed outdoors, alone, and in remote locations.
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); walk long distances on sloped, slippery, and uneven surfaces.
- Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds; lift material up to 50 pounds with or without assistance; bend, kneel, or crouch as needed.
- Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing duties; tolerate dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
