Senior Technician, Refrigeration​/HVAC

Position Summary

Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician at Walmart local retail store. Responsible for repairing and maintaining refrigeration and HVAC equipment, supporting store associates and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities’ refrigeration and HVAC equipment using hand, digital, and power tools.
• Use work order system to receive and document repair activities.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, work at heights.

• 10 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large scale rack refrigeration experience (Type I/Type II or Universal).
• EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with clean record; ability to pass MVR.
• 18 years or older;
  High School Diploma or equivalent.

• 5–7 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance, commercial HVAC/R, building controls.
• Passing score on Ramsey Technician Level 3 HVAC/R test.
• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
• Mechanical license in city or state where job located.

Hourly wage range: $26.00 – $51.00, with possible bonuses and premiums up to $3.00 per hour based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Individual compensation packages vary based on skills, experience, and qualifications.
