Komatsu is seeking a skilled Industrial Controls Technician to join our team in Longview, Texas. In this role, you will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair the electrical, instrumentation, and control systems that support our CNC manufacturing equipment.

The ideal candidate is a safety-focused, mechanically inclined technician with experience diagnosing complex electrical and controls issues. You'll work independently and alongside a collaborative maintenance team to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.

This is a day shift position with occasional overtime, weekend, and holiday work as business needs require.


Key Job Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, instrumentation, and control systems on CNC machinery.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex machine and process issues using a systematic troubleshooting approach, including root cause analysis.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, machine prints, control diagrams, fluid power drawings, and HVAC documentation.
  • Perform safe work planning, risk assessments, and follow all electrical safety standards and company safety procedures.
  • Support mechanical repairs involving ball screws, spindles, spindle bearings, axis scales, conveyors, machine leveling, and alignments.
  • Work with CNC control systems, PLCs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), relay logic, and industrial automation equipment.
  • Inspect equipment, document machine conditions, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate effectively with operations and maintenance teams while working with minimal supervision.
  • Safely perform work requiring kneeling, crawling, climbing, standing for extended periods, and working at heights up to 40 feet.

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Technical certificate or degree in Instrumentation, Electrical Maintenance, Industrial Controls, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting CNC machine tools preferred; candidates with Electronics Technician or Process Controls Technician experience will also be considered.
  • Experience with CNC equipment from manufacturers such as Giddings & Lewis, Gleason, Okuma, Daewoo-Puma, Bourn & Koch, OMV-Parpas, Palmary, Nicolas Correa, or similar.
  • Experience with industrial control platforms including Siemens, Fanuc, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, ABB, PLCs, and variable frequency drives.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, industrial controls, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong computer, communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with limited supervision.
  • Must provide personal hand tools (minimum tool list provided). Company supplies specialty, large hand, and power tools.
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing, including aptitude assessment, drug screening, and physical examination.
