Electrician

Position Overview

Electrician – Longview, TX. The electrician plans layout, installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, and control equipment. Requires non‑exempt hourly work, reports to the foreman, and duties follow specific procedures.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) to four (4) years of experience as an electrician.
• Knowledge of electrician tools and their use.
• Qualification required for work on or above 600 V or 69 kV high‑voltage distribution systems.
• NCCER certification is a bonus.
• Post‑offer drug/alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy.
• Compliance with company and client job‑site safety requirements.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.

• Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials and provide access for future maintenance.
• Prepare sketches or follow diagrams or blueprints to show wiring and equipment locations; ensure concealed wiring is installed before future walls, ceilings, or flooring.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit.
• Pull wiring through conduit, splice wires, and connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
• Install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels.
• Connect power cables to equipment (e.g., electric range or motor) and install grounding leads.
• Test continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components.
• Observe functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
• Repair faulty equipment or systems as required.
• Perform additional assignments as directed by supervisor.

Salary range $20.63 to $32.00 per hour. Final compensation determined based on qualifications and experience.

Tasks may include climbing ladders or scaffolds, handling equipment, lifting 30 to 50 pounds, wearing PPE, and working in hot, cold, or loud environments.
