Job Overview

Holt CAT is seeking an experienced Engine Field Service Technician for the Power Systems Division in Longview, Texas. The position involves performing high‑quality field service repair work on industrial or natural gas engines to respond to customer needs in a positive, caring, and timely manner and ensure maximum value for work performed. A valid driver’s license, ability to travel within the local region, a safe driving record, and the ability to pass and maintain a DOT Physical are required.

Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and the role is onsite at 2210 Legacy Pkwy, Longview, Texas, 75602. The employee reports to Jimmy Booth.

• Troubleshoot and perform complex repairs in the field such as industrial engines and transmissions.
• 3 years of field or shop service tech troubleshooting and repair skills in industrial engines and transmissions.
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment using electronic and manual tools to determine failure. CAT ET & CAT SIS 2.0 knowledge preferred.
• Work safely at all times and adhere to all applicable safety policies; comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Perform basic to intermediate repairs and troubleshooting offsite with minimal supervision.
• Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components to CAT specifications.
• Test, make adjustments, and verify proper operation of all repairs and adjustments.
• Prepare and complete all job‑related documents, write service reports, order parts, and maintain clear customer records; access required databases.
• Operate equipment and vehicles with possession of all necessary licenses and certificates.
• Maintain service vehicle inspection records, daily inspections, and driver logs as required by the Department of Transportation.
• Adhere to contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.
• Maintain all company equipment, tools, and vehicles in a good, clean, and working order.
• Communicate job progress to supervisor and customer as needed.
• Complete assigned jobs and tasks to meet flat‑rate time and re‑work standards.
• Work overtime as required by workload and customers’ needs.
• Complete all assigned Technician Training Path courses and safety training in a timely and proficient manner.
• Project professionalism with both internal and external customers, including personal appearance; may act as a mentor to lower level technicians.
• Require regular and punctual employee attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• More than three years of industrial engine repair experience is required; five or more years preferred.
• MSHA certification preferred.
