Job Description:
Job Summary:
Perform routine welding work on HVAC units. Executes routine welding tasks on HVAC units. Utilizes an arc welder and electrode rods for tack and bead welds, as well as an oxygen/acetylene torch for metal cutting. Operates hand and power tools for grinding, beveling, fitting metals, and removing slag. Chooses appropriate electrodes and holders, while regulating current and time as required. Performs other duties in the weld area as needed.
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent. 1-2 years' experience as a manufacturing worker, welder, or related position preferred. Prior work experience with Lean Manufacturing processes preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent written and oral communication. Ability to rotate through workstations and multitask effectively. Familiar with safety, operations, and repairs for machinery like forklifts, pallet jacks, paint sprayers, etc. Maintain a safe and productive work area.
Work Environment and
Physical Requirements:
Frequent exposure to manufacturing facilities with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure. Ability to stand comfortably for prolonged periods of time, as much as 95% of the workday. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
