Responsible for proactively ensuring on-site inventory levels and logistics requirements that support district operations are maintained at a high standard. The position coordinates the delivery of materials (e.g., sand), manages costing, and maintains inventory carrying levels. Responsibilities include supply chain process flows, inventory management, transportation, freight analysis, invoice auditing, and quality assurance.
Essential Responsibilities- Available on a 24-hour call basis to respond to customer needs when necessary to maintain the highest level of customer service
- Ensure the logistics team is adequately staffed with sand trucks to support the fleets in assigned districts
- Monitor Third Party Carrier usage to ensure the correct number of trucks/companies are utilized
- Manage local carrier relationships and maintain the carrier base in the assigned district
- Develop the communication plan for daily operational status updates through the District Coordinators and Lead Logistics/Coordination of each assigned geographical district
- Reduce demurrage and Stand-By time through well-thought-out and planned flow of proppants to the job site
- Ensure the pad is properly coordinated and the design allows for the most efficient truck turns
- Investigate and report all NPT or demurrage to District Coordinators and Lead Logistics daily
- Continuously review rates to ensure best rates in the district and explore all potential cost-saving avenues
- Evaluate carriers to ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures
- Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with OSHA and D.O.T. regulations
- Process driver/warehouse payroll/time sheets so payroll can be closed by the established cut-off time
- Audit company trucks for DOT compliance and service hours, ensuring utilization of company trucks
- Inspect company equipment for cleanliness and maintain operational status
- Lead the organization and represent the company professionally within the industry and public sector
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Provide guidance and training to all field personnel on processing, control, documentation, transferring, and physical inventory for all locations
- Coach and train employees to ensure compliance with company policies and practices
- Monitor open POs, goods receipts, cycle counts, charge outs, and transfers daily to ensure inventory is properly stated in each field location
- Maintain normal aging of open POs based on lead time
- Complete and enter all paperwork into the system daily before end of shift
- Review inventory levels with district management to ensure proper inventory types are stocked at each location
- Monitor slow inventory and discuss treatment with district leadership
- Ensure field store personnel understand how their position impacts the company’s financial goals
- Maintain inventory security at each location and address issues with district leadership and the Distribution Manager-Manufacturing
- Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts and at least one full physical inventory at year end
- Train field personnel on the business monitoring dashboards created to assist in inventory management
- Optimize inventory in the field to support the business
- Perform other related duties as required
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience of 5-7 years in related fields
- 1-3 years of experience supervising in a supply chain management or logistics environment
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and strong attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Power Point
- Strong organization and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work as a team or independently with changing priorities
- Strategic thinking with excellent quantitative skills
- Proven record of results-based performance
- Strong initiative and proven project management skills
- Sensitivity to confidential information
