Truck Dispatcher - Big Sandy
- Dispatch trucking resources for highway construction, bridge construction, and related infrastructure projects to meet project schedules and customer requirements.
- Schedule and track deliveries of aggregates, asphalt, concrete materials, equipment, and construction supplies.
- Communicate regularly with project managers, superintendents, plant managers, customers, and drivers regarding schedules and delivery status.
- Monitor driver availability, hours‑of‑service compliance, and equipment utilization.
- Maintain accurate dispatch records and operational reports.
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel to ensure equipment availability and minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
- Support 24/7 dispatch operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1 year of dispatching experience involving commercial motor vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of transportation operations and fleet management practices.
- Experience utilizing dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and make sound decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to customer service.
- Previous experience dispatching trucks in highway construction, heavy civil construction, bridge construction, aggregate hauling, ready‑mix concrete, or related industries.
- Experience coordinating multiple job sites and large fleets.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer and phone.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work extended hours during peak construction seasons as needed.
This is a full‑time position. Days and hours of work are normally Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; however, hours can change due to company demands.
Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
