Position InformationThis position is responsible for performing routine administrative support duties for the recreation team. Duties include registering participants, preparing marketing materials both in print & multimedia; filing and copying a variety of materials; entering and reconciling data; typing; answering telephones; scheduling service requests; cashiering; providing customer service; and scheduling events and meetings. Candidate should possess problem-solving skills, strong verbal and communication skills, and ability to identify innovative solutions to optimize office operations.
This position works various hours, between 8-5 pm. This is a part-time position with the possibility of up to 29 hours a week.
A pre-employment background check will be conducted.
- Perform clerical duties, utilizing standard office equipment, to include: screening incoming calls; taking and transmitting messages; maintaining calendars; scheduling meetings; making photocopies; performing data entry; faxing documents; keyboarding; and word processing; multi-line phone system.
- Processes, receives, sorts, and distributes a variety of correspondence, deliveries, and mail.
- Responds to requests for information from the general public and/or other interested parties; answers routine questions; and directs visitors to appropriate locations.
- Files documents alphabetically, numerically, or by other prescribed methods.
- Monitors and restocks office supplies and materials.
- Assists with preparing and reconciling a variety of basic reports in assigned area of responsibility.
- Assists with customer registration processes and performs accurate cash handling duties, including collecting payments, issuing receipts, and reconciling daily transactions.
- Assists with marketing efforts, including creating Facebook posts, designing flyers, and drafting press releases to promote programs and events.

- High School Diploma or GED; and up to 1 year of general office experience
- Pass criminal background check as a prerequisite of employment
