Position Information

This position is responsible for performing routine administrative support duties for the recreation team. Duties include registering participants, preparing marketing materials both in print & multimedia; filing and copying a variety of materials; entering and reconciling data; typing; answering telephones; scheduling service requests; cashiering; providing customer service; and scheduling events and meetings. Candidate should possess problem‑solving skills, strong verbal and communication skills, and ability to identify innovative solutions to optimize office operations.

This position works various hours, between 8‑5 pm. This is a part‑time position with the possibility of up to 29 hours a week.

Responsibilities
  • Perform clerical duties, utilizing standard office equipment, to include screening incoming calls, taking and transmitting messages, maintaining calendars, scheduling meetings, making photocopies, performing data entry, faxing documents, keyboarding, and word processing, as well as operating a multi‑line phone system.
  • Process, receive, sort, and distribute a variety of correspondence, deliveries, and mail.
  • Respond to requests for information from the general public and/or other interested parties; answer routine questions; and direct visitors to appropriate locations.
  • File documents alphabetically, numerically, or by other prescribed methods.
  • Monitor and restock office supplies and materials.
  • Assist with preparing and reconciling a variety of basic reports in the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Assist with customer registration processes and perform accurate cash handling duties, including collecting payments, issuing receipts, and reconciling daily transactions.
  • Assist with marketing efforts, including creating Facebook posts, designing flyers, and drafting press releases to promote programs and events.
  • Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.

Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED; and up to 1 year of general office experience.
  • Pass criminal background check as a prerequisite of employment.
