Job Title
This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of complex utility billing functions for the Fiscal Utilities Division.
EssentialJob Duties
The duties include serving as a lead worker, preparing and maintaining records, responding to customer complaints, researching delinquent accounts, issuing licenses, performing clerical duties, computing and collecting fees, and taking the lead for directing work when the Finance Office Supervisor is out of the office or unavailable.
Minimum QualificationsThe minimum qualifications include an associate's degree or 2 year technical certificate in accounting, business, or related field AND 2-3 years of administrative, bookkeeping and/or cashiering experience OR a combination of education, training and experience which would provide the required skills, knowledge and ability to perform the job as determined by the department.
Ideal Candidate InformationThe ideal candidate should have basic mathematical concepts, bookkeeping principles, licensing principles and regulations, modern office administration, utility service systems knowledge, good interpersonal and customer service skills, ability to work in a multi-task environment, initiative to take action and be self-motivated, ability to communicate professionally, discretion over sensitive and confidential issues, understanding of departmental functions and services, ability to compose business correspondence, and ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with others in the workplace.
